RPM sea school is recognized by the RYA to provide training and assessment for Power Boating levels 2, International Certificate of Competence.
Training takes place at Lyme Regis in our school boat with a maximum ratio of one instructor to three students so there is plenty of opportunity for learning. The theory part of the course is done in our fully equipped training room, with visual aids, chart, white board and computer screen, etc.
Our school boats are well equipped with electronics and safety equipment and are capable of handling a wide range of situations.
Courses can be run on demand: midweek or at weekends and at whatever level you require from complete beginners to experienced drivers.
Our fully qualified RYA instructors, have been trained to a high standard, have first aid qualifications and have all been assessed by an independent inspector. They have extensive knowledge of the sea and the local area, backed up with practical experience from a variety of backgrounds.
The RYA level 2 course will provide the skills and background knowledge, needed by the competent power boat driver and is the basis for the international certificate of competence. The aim is to teach boat handling and seamanship in a variety of conditions.

What you will need on the day:-
There is some classroom work a pen, pencil and note pad will be provided. Please bring 2 passport sized photographs with you. You will be provided with certificates and a copy of the RYA Start Powerboating Book.
Appropriate Clothing:
You will need to bring with you:
Warm clothing – Trousers or shorts on warm days. (not denim please as
the fabric is very absorbent and is slow drying)
Light, warm top – fleece or similar – layers are better than one thick top
Waterproofs – trousers if possible, a water proof jacket is essential (not wax jackets please) or a dry-suit
Suitable footwear – deck shoes, old trainers, wet boots.
A warm hat and a sun hat (season dependant)
Sun protection cream
Spare change of clothing.
Two Passport sized photographs for your certificate
Packed Lunch - Hot drinks are provided in the classroom but do bring a flask or a cold drink to have whilst out on the water if you wish
